A two year-old girl has been left deaf in one ear after a toy ‘bomb’ was pushed through her letterbox and exploded in her face.
Toddler Keira Tasker picked up the ‘Bomb Bag’ and carried it into the kitchen where it exploded, leaving her deaf in one ear, partially deaf in the other and with dry skin on her face and hands.
Mother Louise Fleetham is calling for the 40p toy to be banned. She said: ““The thing which makes me sick is it’s something which is being advertised as a children’s joke toy. I want these things banned. They’re marketed as a children’s toy, but it’s caused deafness in a two year-old.”
Police have reported the incident to Trading Standards and are urging shops not to sell them.
