Tornado warning system improved for deaf
Nearly $13,000 (£8,700) is to be spent improving the tornado warning system in Collierville, Tennessee to ensure deaf people receive emergency information quicker.
Information will be distributed by email, text message, fax and via devices which deaf people use including pagers and TTY’s.
The system will be ready for the start of the storm season next month.
